Collins's images examine urban living, city back streets, deserted buildings and the contemporary life styles which discard and abandon these spaces. Within this, she looks at the possibility for nature to rejuvenate these forgotten urban places.
In this most recent series of work titled 'On The Edge Of Perception', Coillins photographs bleak interiors which harbour a history involving the confinement of human life. Each picture consists of two topographically correct photographic images, one of a woodland, the other an empty asylum. Photographically the images remain unchanged but are brought together by a slow process of gentle digital blending.
In 2008 alone Collins was shortlisted for The Soveriegn Eropean Art Prize and has had her work shown in:
The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Piccadilly London.
The Royal Academy of Bristol.
Embankment Galleries Somerset House London.
Shorditch House.
